Cee-lo

Illegal, y que?

....i mean...

SO!
I will attribute my recent travels and whatnot to the fact that i have been fucking INSANELY busy. Both, with "the grind" and with shows...travel...and just straight partying my fucking face off. I'm pretty sure i've worn myself out, just with this past month alone...so now that im home sick with swine flu- or whatever it is that i might have caught from hanging out with too many mexicans; i have time to finally update all of you- who ALSO never sleep, on what's been happening lately and what i've been getting into.
(also im back to give you my extravagent run on sentances from hell.  so get excited, sons.)

Alright, so as you hiphop heads may know....Atmosphere and Brother Ali hit richmond last weekend.
And, so it  was written. I had to be there. Copped some VIP tickets, and headed to the national around 6pm.

The show started with Attracted To Gods...who opened.
I spent that time in the bar...personally, i didn't really dig that music.. or the fact
that there were mad college herbs in the audience, with frayed brimmed visors and berkenstocks everywhere. It looked more like an Asher Roth or Dave Matthews show, than a Rhymesayers gig. But hey, there i was.

After Attracted To Gods was done, Mr.Dibbs came out to bless the wheels 'a' steel.. and Brother Ali jumped out onto stage. He was in a great mood, and had the crowd laughing between songs, and jumping around during them. I seriously think that about 5 people in the crowd knew who he was, but nevertheless everyone was feeling good and dancing their asses off.

After Brother Ali, it was time for a cigarette outside....and then slug was ready to take over the stage and step to the plate. The crowd was superpsyched, and i personally couldn't stop grinning. I'm like a 5 year old at chuck e. cheese when i roll into a good show.  Of course, it was time for me to push my way to the front of the crowd for the good flicks, and so i could get muh' groove on. He opened with a few older numbers for the long term fans, and launched from there into some newer shit. The crowd was definately more into the newer joints he was throwing out, but it was all in all a good time.
The encore produced about 5 more songs, and the show was over by midnight. I truly believe that asides from about 2 other people i saw, and myself...that there were no REAL hip hop heads at this show...which is sad. At one point in the night, i looked over at my homeboy, sipped on my drink...shook my head, and said "nas was right, son." to which he agreed. My statement was sadly reinforced when; during the "sunshine" song, slug twisted his lyrics up a little bit and laid down the line "a car pulled up, bumpin.....PHAROAHE MONCH.." into which he sent the beat into P.M.'s  "Simon Says", screaming at the crowd to "get the fuck up". And everyone looked at eachother, like "what?" while my homies and i freaked out and jumped around like monkeys.

After the show, the mean streak was broken out and handled....and then we got in the car and turned Pharoahe Monch up as loud as we could handle it, and rolled back past the venue to show the abercrombie kids what the fuck was up.

As soon as we checked into the hotel room, we were all tired as hell, and fell asleep after smoking a little and watching an animal planet special on elephants. Woke up to the beautiful view of broad street, richmond...and checked out of the hotel a half an hour late.
About 2 hours later, i wound up at Jesse Smith's art gallery / tattoo studio...watching my homeboy get his sleeve worked on. It didnt take long for me to get bored and wander around outside. Richmond knows whatsup with Restless, too. This little sight made me happy, and homesick. I was ready to head back to 757

After napping in the car, for a little...the tattoo was finished and we grabbed some thai food and hit the pavement back to hampton roads.
